Long Time no Blog

How's it going folks? Been a long time since I have posted anything. Been going through some personal adversity in my life.

There is so much to write about since I have last wrote anything. Healthcare, Supreme court nominees, the election coming up in november (can't wait), and all of the other things going on nationally and internationally, but today I want to write about whats going on here in Kansas.

Once again the soft spined republicans have agreed to raise taxes here in the state of Kansas. Why do we vote for these closet liberals? Every time someone says they are a conservative, we fall for it hook line and sinker. Why is it that our elected officials don't understand that when there is a budget crisis, you must cut spending, not raise taxes. I don't mean little bit of spending here and there, I mean axing something that is just not worth having on the books. Yeah Yeah I know what alot of people are going to say; "but you can't just cut entire programs out of the government." Why not? Why can't the people look at what is on the books and decide what is worth spending their tax dollars on. I can damn near gaurantee that there are millions waisted on funding rediculous research and other frivilous projects. It's funny how the government likes to grow and spend when times are good, and when times are bad, they like to raise taxes. Makes no sense to me. The funny thing about this whole sales tax hike is if we ever get to a balanced budget again, they won't lower the taxes. We'll be stuck paying a higher tax from here on out. Thats why its so dangerous to raise taxes. It takes a little more of our liberty and freedom away bit by bit.

  1. But at the same time....you and your ilk expect services, "defense" (even though Iraq has nothing to do with defending ourselves), and tax breaks to the wealthy. In other words, you want something for nothing. Kinda ironic huh...

  2. Actually Anon, I don't mind the government doing what it is supposed to be doing as lined out in the constitution. Defense is one of them.

As far as Iraq goes, according to the constitution, it's an illegal war anyway. No declaration. No war. Says it right there in the document. Of course just about every war we have engaged in since korea has been illegal.
So where do we sit on that subject? Do you agree with me or not? My problem with taxes is just what I stated in my blog. They never go down! We need to repeal the 16th amendment, get rid of the federal reserve, go to a consumption tax and and get back to the gold standard. I don't want the governments to do anything for the people that the people can and should do for themselves. Our taxes are high enough already, why can't we have an honest dicussion about where to cut back. Thats what you aand I have to do. so why shouldn't the government have to do the same. We are paying for an ever expanding government and losing more liberty as we do so. we are financing our own tyranny.

Tax breaks to the wealthy is a whole other topic to break bread about. The top 1% of wage earners in this country pay 40% of all the taxes. How is that fair? The top 50% of wage earners in this country pay 97% af all taxes. That includes people making $30,000 and up. That means that our tax system is broken when the bottom half of wage earners pay only 3% of the taxes in this country. Wouldn't you agree?

All numbers were pulled off of the IRS website. You can look for yourself. I hope it's an eye opener.

    Respectfuly,

    Ray
